Easter dessert with chocolate, nuts and hazelnuts

Prepare the dough:

In the bowl of the robot put flour, cocoa, powdered sugar, vanilla, salt and cold butter cubes. With the robot paddle, mix. Gradually add the yolk and cold water, stirring until you get a ball of dough. Do not knead it by hand.

If you don't have robots, mix the ingredients in a bowl with the blade of a blunt knife, crushing the butter cubes. Then add the egg yolk and gradually the cold water. The dough will bind. Do not knead it by hand.

Wrap the ball in plastic wrap and let cool for 10 minutes.

After this time, roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Make a circle and place it on the bottom of the greased form. With the remaining dough, make a strip a little bigger than the walls of the form and place it on the walls of the greased form. Press well with your fingers and weld the 2 doughs. Put the form in the cold.

In a small, non-stick pan, lightly fry the walnuts and hazelnuts.

Melt the chocolate in a bain marie or in the microwave.

In the bowl of the robot put the cheese, salt, sugar and vanilla.

Stir and gradually add eggs and sour cream.

Add the melted chocolate and mix well (the chocolate will harden a little on contact).

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

Remove the form with the tender dough from the fridge. Pour the chocolate cream into it.

Sprinkle walnuts and hazelnuts on top and lightly press with a spoon. Not to be outside, but not to go to the bottom (keep a few for the final decoration.

Level the shape and put in the oven.

The dough came off the walls and fell on my cheese :) It's good anyway.

First 20 minutes at 180 ° C, then reduce to 170 ° C and leave for another 20 minutes.

With the remaining dough I made 3 bunnies (10 minutes in the oven).

Let it cool and refrigerate overnight.

Remove the Easter from the form (detachable). Powder it with sugar and decorate it as desired.

In the tray greased and covered with baking paper (or lined with flour) put the dough and cover the walls of the tray.
Sprinkle baked nuts or hazelnuts or almonds over it and pour the following composition: 8 yolks rub with 8 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Add butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons flour, 4 tablespoons cocoa and rum. When baking, add the beaten egg whites with 4 tablespoons of sugar, lemon juice or vinegar and a little salt. Bake on low heat for 30-40 minutes.

Today was a beautiful and sunny day in Bucharest. After a walk through Cismigiu we arrived home a bit hungry. And as we still had a craving for something sweet, we quickly made a delicious cake that would satisfy our appetite and hunger :)

  • 2 eggs, a cup of milk (I used a larger cup of tea, about 300 ml), a cup (same cup) oil, a cup (same cup) sugar, vanilla and lemon essence, vanilla sugar, powder baked, flour as it contains the composition, nuts and raisins (quantity according to preferences :)), chocolate icing (optional).

At first, for the liquid composition, I used a mixer bowl. I mixed the eggs with the sugar for 5 minutes. I then added the milk and oil and continued to mix with the mixer. I put the obtained composition in a large bowl, I added the essences, the vanilla sugar, the baking powder and then gradually the flour. I continued to mix with the mixer until the composition was homogenous and at the end I put the chopped walnuts and raisins.

  6. 30 ml milk
  7. 200 g butter

After everything has been homogenized, put the pot on low heat (or in a sea bath) and stir continuously until it starts to thicken.
Leave to cool a little, then add the soft butter and cream.
In a detachable tray (26 cm in diameter) lined with baking paper, spread the dough, raising a little on the walls of the form, forming a border.
Pour the filling, then put in the oven over medium heat for 1 hour, until the filling begins to take on consistency.
Leave to cool in the mold, remove the detachable ring and decorate as desired.

As a preamble to the Easter meal, I performed this Easter with chocolate, as a dessert for a Sunday of Flowers in the family.
And as good things attract other good things, from the cake dough prepared for Easter came a Rosenkrantz Cake, a madness of cake prepared according to Gabriela Cara's recipe, which I congratulate for the delicious recipes, for the refined taste in choosing them and the special talent in preparing and presenting them.

Well, but now I will present you the recipe for my Easter with chocolate, and I will come back with the one for the Rosenkrantz Cake.

What I used:
300g cake dough (recipe here)
150g cocoa, 12 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 rum essence (I used brandy, because my husband doesn't like rum), 1 lemon, 11 yolks, 1 egg, 2-3 tablespoons thick cream, 1 packet margarine, 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs.

How I proceeded:
I mixed the cocoa with the sugar and milk and boiled in a bain-marie, stirring constantly, until it thickened.
I took the pan off the heat and put it in a bowl with ice cubes to speed up the cooling, stirring constantly.
I then added the yolks and a whole egg, incorporating them one by one, then the margarine and then the sour cream. Finally I added the flavors (rum / brandy, grated peel of a lemon, vanilla).

I lined a round tray with baking paper, placed the cake dough and pricked it with a fork from place to place, sprinkled the breadcrumbs and then added the chocolate composition.
I put the tray in the preheated oven and let it bake for about 45 minutes. Eventually, the straw test is performed.
Remove the pasca from the mold after it has cooled.

For the decoration, I used grated white chocolate, which I placed in the center in the form of a nest with 4 chocolate eggs, as seen in the pictures.

If you do not have time to prepare all the preparations for the Easter meal, you can resort to the trick of making two dishes in one. We recommend a chocolate Easter, which will also serve as a dessert.

Put the dough in the oven for about 15 minutes, then take it out and pour the chocolate filling over it and put it back in the oven for 25 minutes.

How to serve chocolate Easter:

Chocolate Easter is served with powdered sugar, decorated with nuts or almonds.
