Apple cake


The apples are cleaned, grated (large), squeezed from the juice and cooked in their own juice over low heat for 20 minutes. After turning off the heat, add sugar and cinnamon to taste (depending on the apples). let the filling cool completely.

Margarine at room temperature mix with sugar, vanilla sugar and lemon peel, until you get a fine cream. Incorporate the yolk and slowly knead with flour mixed with baking powder, until you get a harder dough.

We line a larger and stretched tray with baking paper (or grease with margarine and line with flour), 3/4 of the dough we spread and place with the help of the rolling pin in the tray (roll on the rolling pin and unfold in the tray). Place the filling evenly over the dough.

The rest of the dough is mixed with 4 tablespoons of flour, until we get a very hard dough and scrape it (with the large apple grater) over the filling. Sprinkle the grated dough with sugar and leave in the oven for about 1 hour on low heat until browned. (The dough on top should be very crispy)
