Today being Sunday, I decided to make skewers. They are more pretentious because we need more time because there are many operations. But if we are optimistic and hungry for a game, we did them.

  • 20 cubes of pork (pork breast and pork leg)

  • 1 red onion
  • 1 white onion
  • 6 large artichokes

RECIPE PREPARATION Skewers with potatoes:

To start we have to cut the ingredients in the sizes we want to put on the skewers. 5 pieces of meat on each skewer. We start to put them on the skewer alternately: a piece of meat - one piece of red onion, a piece of meat-half an olive, a piece of meat- a piece of zucchini, a piece of meat-a piece of pepper, a piece of meat-a piece of white onion. Season and put on the grill for. approx .50 min. Peel the potatoes and cut them into different shapes: straw, round, square (for nonconformism). Wash and fry in a little oil and a little water. Return several times. with a spatula and put on a plate (on which I placed a napkin to absorb the excess oil). Arrange nicely on the plate 2 skewers and french fries. Skewers with potatoes and tomatoes

Because we are fasting, I inquired and looked for a recipe with vegetables. I found it in an older magazine, the recipe is very light and does not require special ingredients.

  • 2-3 potatoes,
  • 1 zucchini
  • 2-3 smaller onions
  • 2 bell peppers (preferably different colors)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 box of peeled tomatoes in broth of 400 gr
  • salt, pepper, thyme
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • oil
  • 100 ml red wine (if you are not fasting)

Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes and the zucchini and peppers. Cut the onion in four.

Stick on alternate wooden spikes carnations, zucchini, onions, peppers, season and fry in 4-5 tablespoons of oil.

Remove and keep warm. Chop the remaining onion and garlic, chop in the remaining oil, add the tomatoes and broth, sugar and wine, boil for another 4-5 minutes. Serve with dill.

Now assemble the skewers, alternating the meat and vegetables as you like. Always put a piece of chicken at the base and top, so your skewers will not disintegrate as the vegetables soften and brown on the grill.

Potato salad

Fasting potato salad with fine dressing and mustard sour cream is ideal for this period. For this recipe you need: 1 kg of boiled potatoes
4 green onions
or 2 red onions, slices
1 fresh cucumber, sliced
2 slices of red and yellow pepper (optional)
a few leek slices (optional)
Mustard Dressing:
1 jar of 400 ml with screw cap
3 teaspoons good mustard (Dijon or whatever you like)
lemon juice & frac12
100 ml olive (or sunflower) oil
salt, freshly ground black pepper.

Peel a squash, grate it and cut it into quarters. Slice the cucumbers and cut the yellow and red pepper slices. We will cut the green onion and leek into rounds.

Then we put them all in a bowl and mix them lightly without crushing the potatoes.

To make the dressing, we will put the mustard, the lemon juice and the olive oil in a clean 400 ml jar. Put the lid on and shake the jar to make an emulsion. Add salt and pepper and mix again.

We can put the dressing directly in the bowl over the salad or we can serve it in the saucepan to put it in moderation. Good appetite!
